Rosetta Steps Education Centre

Rosetta Steps Education Center is a school and learning center based in Montserrado County, Liberia, dedicated to providing quality education to children from low income families. Our organization is founded on the belief that education is a human right and the best means of combatting inequality, poverty, and discrimination.

Less than half of Liberians are literate, and the country suffers from extreme poverty and a broken education system. Inspired by the legacy of one of the country’s most dedicated educators, Rosetta Benson, we consider it our mission to empower and educate as many Liberian youth and families in need as we can. We believe that the children of Liberia all have the potential for greatness, and that helping them to acquire the knowledge and skills to be successful will develop them into the leaders our country and world needs.

OUR SCHOOL

At the heart of Rosetta Steps Education Center is our school, which aims to build an inclusive and equitable society by providing every child in Liberia, irrespective of their social and economic status, access to an education that sets them up for success in life. Our school is centered around the development of our children, and we align the efforts of teachers, parents, administrators, volunteers, donors, and mentors to support our students.

FEATURED SCHOLARSHIP

RECIPIENT

When the Rosetta Steps team first met Isaac, he was struggling in life as his parents could not afford to send him to school. Thanks to the support of a scholarship, Isaac started at Rosetta Steps in Grade 1. He is now in Grade 4 and has the second best marks in the school. Isaac is the only one in his family in school, and he hopes that one day his two brothers will also get scholarships so they can join him.
