On Friday, December 1st, 2023, the distribution of these life-changing Power Packs took place at Rosetta Steps Education Center, marking a pivotal moment in the lives of 55 deserving children.

The Rosetta Steps Education Center, a beacon of hope in the heart of the Duala, Caldwell community, extends its deepest gratitude to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Eta Beta Omega Chapter for their generous support in ensuring the well-being of 55 children in our school for an entire year.

In a heartfelt commitment to addressing childhood hunger in our low-income community, Alpha Kappa Alpha Heta Beta Omega Chapter selected Rosetta Steps as the pilot institution for their groundbreaking Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Packs program (CHIPP). This program is designed to provide essential food and nutritional packages to underprivileged children, ensuring they have access to nourishing meals over the period of a year.

On Friday, December 1st, 2023, the distribution of these life-changing Power Packs took place at Rosetta Steps Education Center, marking a pivotal moment in the lives of 55 deserving children. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Heta Beta Omega Chapter, including Soror Caroline Klark, Nicole Cooper, and Clarine Simpson Vaughn. Their dedication and commitment to the cause were evident as they interacted with the children and their families, spreading warmth and encouragement.

Soror Dr. Nicole Cooper, a representative of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Heta Beta Omega Chapter, expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating, "We believe that education and nourishment go hand in hand. The CHIPP program is a testament to our commitment to empower the youth in our community, ensuring they have the nourishment needed to thrive and grow."

The Rosetta Steps Education Center was founded in New Kru Town in the year 2016 in honor of Mrs. Rosetta Benson Harris former principal of the William V. S Tubman High school. The aim of the center is to formulate and provide quality educational programs to inhabitants of low income communities. The center runs an elementary school from nursery to Grade 8 at the cost of less than a dollar a day.
